Follow these steps to get started with your device
Get startedRestore from iCloud Backup
1. | From the welcome screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen. |
2. | Tap your desired language. |
3. | Tap your country/region. |
4. | Choose your preferred appearance using the slider, then tap Continue. |
5. | From this screen, you can set up your device using Quick Start. To do this, bring another device running iOS 11 or later nearby to sign in automatically. To skip this and set up your device manually, tap Set Up Without Another Device. |
6. | From this screen, you're able to connect your device to nearby Wi-Fi networks. Tap the network you'd like to connect to. |
7. | Enter the network password, then tap Join. |
8. | Read the data and privacy statement from Apple, then tap Continue. |
9. | You have the option to set up your device for yourself or a child. For this example, tap Set Up for Myself. |
10. | On this screen, you can choose to set up Face ID on your device. Face ID uses your face as a security measure in place of a passcode or Apple ID password when making purchases or unlocking your device. Tap Continue and follow the on-screen instructions to register your face, otherwise tap Set Up Later. |
11. | Here you can choose to set up a passcode. A passcode will be used when unlocking your phone or making purchases and is also required as a backup for Face ID. You can choose between creating a six-digit, four-digit, custom numeric, or custom alphanumeric code. Enter then re-enter your desired code, then jump to step 14. To skip this step, tap Passcode Options. |
12. | Tap Don't Use Passcode. |
13. | Tap Don't Use Passcode again. |
14. | Tap From iCloud Backup. |
15. | Enter your Apple Account and password, then tap Continue. |
16. | Read the terms and conditions for using your device, then tap Agree. |
17. | Tap your desired backup. |
18. | Tap Continue. |
19. | On this screen, you'll be given the option to set up Siri. For now, tap Set Up Later in Settings. |
20. | On this screen, you'll be given the option to share iPhone Analytics with Apple. Tap your desired preference. |
21. | On this screen, you'll be given the option to share app data with the developers. Tap your desired preference. Your device will now start to restore data from your iCloud backup. This may take several minutes, and your device will restart once the restore has finished. |
