| Use the Find My app to erase an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple Watch, or Mac. In order to remotely erase a device, you must Enable Find My before it's lost. | |
Erase a device remotely: | |
| Please note: to access a lost device you'll need to use the Find My app on an Apple device that is logged in using the same Apple ID as the lost device. | |
| 1. | Using another device or PC, visit www.icloud.com and tap Sign In. |
| 2. | Enter your Apple ID email address and password, then tap the next icon. |
| 3. | If you have two-factor authentication enabled, you'll be asked to enter the verification code that has been sent to one of your devices. Enter that code. |
| 4. | Tap the apps icon. |
| 5. | Tap Find My. |
| 6. | Tap the device you'd like to erase. |
| 7. | Tap Erase This Device. |
| 8. | Tap Next. |
| 9. | If prompted, log into your Apple ID account again, if you don't see this, skip to step 10. Enter your Apple ID email address and password again, then tap the next icon. You may be asked to enter another two-factor code that has been sent to one of your devices. Enter that code. |
| 10. | On this screen, you have the choice to add a phone number. This phone number will be shown on this iPhone after it has been erased and will allow others to contact you whenever they find your iPhone. If you'd like to, enter your phone number and then tap Next. |
| 11. | On this screen, you have the choice to add a message. This message will be shown on this iPhone. You may want to add a message to indicate that your device is lost or how to contact you. If you'd like to, enter your message and then tap Erase. |
| 12. | The iPhone you've chosen to erase will now start to erase all data. |

Cancel an erase: | |
| Please note: if you erase an offline device and find it before it comes online again, you can cancel the erase request. | |
